We finally have our own internet. I will spare you the details, but lets just say it took eleventymillion damn phone calls to Huntsville (that's in Alabama for you northerners), a 1/2 hour trip to the damn Comcast office and the poor guy who installed my cable coming out at 7:30 on his wife's birthday.
Of course, once the internet worked the damn thing wouldn't load right and I had to call Huntsville. Once they did what they needed to do, the damn router wouldn't work. I am not sure how Christian fixed it, or how many times I can say damn in this post, but it works now.
Tomorrow is our first field trip Friday. I would tell you where we are going but you might come out and bug us or something so it will have to be a surprise. I know you can't wait.
Tomorrow we will be meeting a few people from our local homeschool group for the first time. I have a damn horrible, horrible toothache (because I am a baby and won't get my wisdom teeth taken out like the dentist recommended I have done 14 years ago...) so I am sure I will be the life of the party. Just please don't let me embarrass myself. If I must embarrass someone, make it the kids. Always the kids.
Someone remind me to purchase and send the "We have moved!" cards, please. I think I still have the ones from when we moved to Detroit, 8 1/2 years ago. Damn.
Speaking of moving, why does it seem that everyone here is from somewhere else? Well, somewhere else, or from here. Hummm... that didn't make sense. Clearly. What I mean is that I have met or spoken to plenty of people who are from up north - or from right here in lil' ol' Meridian. Both people I talked to at Comcast in Huntsville, one person from the local office, and various other people are all from up north. Everyone else? Born and raised right here. Maybe a more appropriate thing to say is that everyone seems to either be native to Meridian or from "up north."
Whoa! It is 10pm. Way past my bedtime. This whole central time thing is messing with me. Marty and I both turned 85 when we crossed the line, because now starting around 7:30 we both get tired.
Damn. Damn. Damn.

Could you put me in touch with someone that can explain to me why I paid for phone service over a week ago and still do not have it? No one can tell me when I will have it, or even why I can't get it.
I will spare you the details about the incredibly rude and uninformed customer service reps I had to deal with, though.
